Our Story

Our Deliveries

Our organization runs a dedicated grocery delivery service for families in need, providing essential food items second Saturday of each month. The process begins by working closely with each family to understand their specific needs, ensuring that the grocery lists are personalized and tailored to their unique circumstances. These lists are updated monthly based on feedback and requests from the families onboard.

Once the groceries are collected, volunteers organize and package them for delivery. Our team ensures timely and efficient distribution of the packages to each family, ensuring they receive their groceries in a respectful manner and full confidentiality. By contacting in person and listening to the families' needs, we strive to provide meaningful assistance that alleviates their issues and brings a sense of fulfillment and security to those we serve.

Identification of potential support recipients

We have a rigorous process for identifying potential support recipients and ensuring that funds are allocated appropriately. The identification and approval process entails activities that are not limited to these actions:

  • In-person visits and discussion interviews where we aim to gather information about the recipient, their family and dependents

  • Completion of a questionnaire that encompasses their basic information, reasons of taking support, challenges, kind of supports if they required food supply only or any other supports; temporary education and /or medication, building & developing resume, helping to bring in mainstream job market, counselling etc.

  • The board reviews the affected families’ comments results and the questionnaire.

  • Families who meet the criteria are added to the Support Recipient list.

  • Ongoing check-ins and updates to ensure support recipients’ eligibility asking periodical bank statements and Notice of Assessments issued by CRA for each family members.
